In the event of an alarm, make sure your system communicates to your monitoring center. Both AT&T and Verizon will discontinue their cellular networks required to operate 3G cellular devices soon. They’re migrating away from the old telecommunication technology and adopting the faster and more efficient Long-Term Evolution or LTE.

As a result of this 3G shut down, every security panel with that old network will stop working.

When people think of security, burglar alarms and surveillance cameras often come to mind first. But there’s another equally important line of defense that is often overlooked: fire alarms. Fires can devastate a home or business in minutes, and often the difference between minor damage and total loss comes down to early detection. That’s why fire alarm systems are not only recommended—they’re essential. At Progressive Technology Security Systems (PTSS) , a family-owned company with over 38 years of service in San Diego County, fire safety has always been at the heart of what we do. With our community facing unique risks—from wildfire seasons to the everyday hazards of electrical failures—having a reliable fire alarm system isn’t just about code compliance. It’s about protecting lives, property, and peace of mind.
