How does a security system work?
Electronic Security systems use Low-voltage electronic signals and intrusion detection devices to communicate with a Control Panel. These signals are sent out in loops. If a control Panel sends out a signal and it comes back, then the security system is in a normal state. If the signal (or loop) is disrupted or an intrusion detection device senses a break in, then an alarm sounds and the system will send signals to notify you or dispatch the police.

What considerations go into designing a security system?
A Security System should be designed around the specific needs of the customer.

What is the difference between a Wireless and Wired Security System?
Wireless security system devices are used when running wires would be too difficult. This saves money, and time in installing a Security System. The system has its own battery supply immune to power outages, power surges and any other issues that may arise.

What is Alarm Monitoring?
With the installation of every security and fire system, you the customer gave the option to subscribe your system to be monitored. When your alarm goes off or there is a trouble issue, our central monitoring are already on it. They will contact you then if there is a problem they will dispatch the appropriate emergency response for the situation.

How do I know that the Security Installers are Trustworthy?
Each Security Installation Company has their own standards. At Progressive Technology, all Installers receive an Alarm Installer License, which involves a Criminal Background and FBI investigation. We also conduct random Drug Tests and pull DMV records upon hire.

How can a Security System be affordable, without sacrificing quality?

Is a Burglar Alarm easy to use?
Burglar alarms can be simple to use. All of our security systems are user friendly. The installers will be more than happy to teach you how to use the system step by step and answer any questions you may have.

Will my pet trip a motion detector while I am away, and cause a false alarm?
Progressive Technology Security has pet friendly motion detectors available. Pets up to 35 pounds will not be detected.

What are the penalties for false alarms?
If a customer has recurring false alarms, they may be subject to municipal fines. The fine cost will depend on your residential or business location.

What is a Door Access Control System?
To protect door entry, our door access control system provides security to control door access by limiting authorization to access the door and by prohibiting door access to unauthorized personnel. This feature can be used by installing keypads, magnetic locks, card readers and electric strikes.

What is a Surveillance Camera (CCTV, DVR) System?
A surveillance security camera system at your facility will prevent theft and vandalism simply by its presence. A Digital Video Recorder (DVR) will record the streams from cameras, which will also aide in internal or criminal investigations. CCTV or DVR Systems allow for constant supervision, and new technology provides very practical options. We install Camera Systems across California.

What is a Fire Detection System?
Fire Systems detect the signs of smoke or heat, and notify the people in the building of danger. We are UL certified to install Fire Systems, and work in close contact with the fire department to follow all federal and local regulations.

What is an Intercom System?
A wired intercom system installation, Access inside your office is allowed only after a code is entered, or with verbal confirmation through the intercom. Your business will run smoother with fewer interruptions, and your employees will feel safer while at work.
