Urban Area Perspective – Keeping Phoenix Ready
Michael DeBenedetto is the City of Phoenix’s emergency management coordinator, a post that he has held in the city’s Office of Emergency Management since 2007. As coordinator he has served as the city’s liaison on emergency preparedness issues, has coordinated training programs and emergency operations drills, has assisted city departments with their emergency and mitigation plans, and has coordinated the submittal process for federal and state reimbursement claims for the city’s costs during emergency operations.
